20th Nottingham Girls Brigade Company
"To Seek Serve and Follow Christ"
Girls Brigade is a national uniformed organisation that encourage girls to mature in all areas of their life and to teach them about being followers of Jesus.
Girls take part in lots of different age appropriate activities including: - Ice-skating, Sleep overs, Crafts, Games, Badge work and Bible Studies.
Every couple of years our company takes a major role, along with other Girls and Boys Brigade Companies in the District, in organising and performing a talent show at a local theatre. All boys and girls have the chance of performing to the best of their abilities. There is a part for anyone who wants to try.
Our Girls Brigade Marching Band also meet for practice on Friday nights. Girls can join from age 8. They can learn instuments such as bugle, bell lyre, cymbals and marching drums and can take part in parades throughout the County, often joining up with other companies.
Girls can start GB from age 5 when they join Explorers. The Brigaders Section is for girls 14+. With Juniors and Seniors in between.
They meet in the church hall from 6.30pm on a Friday evening, finishing between 8pm and 9pm according to age. A weekly subscription of £1 is asked for to help with activities. A tuck shop is also available.
