What to expect
At Daybrook Baptist we like people to come as they are. Our services are relaxed and informal affairs where all are welcome.
Each meeting lasts for just over an hour.
The morning meeting starts with a time of sung worship, a mixture of traditional hymns and contemporary songs. There then follows a time of teaching - normally from one of our pastors - who aim to make the Bible relevant to our everyday life and experiences.
Children start by meeting in their individual groups and then join the adults towards the end of the service for more sung worship and prayers.
The exception to this is on the third Sunday of the month when we have a time of All Age Worship where we all gather together for the whole service, (creche is still available).
Communion takes place on the first Sunday morning and third Sunday evening.
A collection is taken during the morning service only. This is part of worship for Church members. Non-members and visitors should not feel under pressure to contribute. During communion services there is a second collection for a special fund that is available to aid people experiencing difficult situations.
Evening services vary from week to week. These are smaller gatherings that meet in the hall. The first Sunday is dedicated to prayer and third incorporates communion. Other weeks can range from meditations to dvd presentations. Every week seeks to draw us ever closer to knowing God a little bit more.
After the morning meeting on the third Sunday there is the opportunity to buy Fairtrade goods such as tea, coffee, cereals and snacks. You can also order goods via our coordinator, Hilda Davies.
